The Black Watch World Class Colorguard

2017 Production:

The Black Watch celebrates 51 years of competition with its 2017 production, “INFINITY.”

It is said that, the sun is the giver of the greatest gift…  LIFE!  The symbol of infinite life and infinite love is the driving force for our entire existence.  It is with this inspiration that we explore the sun, it’s golden strings of energy, and it’s unconditional connection to life and love.  The cast of The Black Watch expresses this appreciation through the use of vivid bold imagery, an emotional musical production, and uniquely stylized choreography.

The unit hails from Mount Laurel, New Jersey and is under the long-time direction of Claudette Wolfrom and Matthew Hurley serves as Operations Manager.  The production is choreographed by Juan Carlos Caceres, John Escalante, John Joseph, and Juan Artavia.  Additional staff includes Joyce Wolfrom-Roos, Toni Tunstall, Shannon Hall, Lauryn Heller and Jason Hall.  Administrative support provided by Bobbey Biddle and Kim Yarnell.  The team is lead onto the floor by captains Diana Kostrubiak and Kimberly Kinden. The soundtrack design is by Juan Carlos Caceres and features “SUN” by Sleeping at Last.  Costume designs by Creative Costuming and floor and flag designs by graphic artist Dan Douglas.

The Black Watch will perform at WGI events located at South Brunswick High School, Lehigh University, and the University of Dayton in Ohio.  They will also participate in local competitions with the Tournament Indoor Association and the Mid-Atlantic Indoor Network.  The Black Watch has appeared in WGI World Class finals and semi-finals a combined total of 16 times.

The Black Watch would like to thank its many fans, sponsors, supporters, and alumni for their continued support!

“We are infinite as the universe we hold inside.”
